BPHA High Rise Blocks
BPHA, a social housing association in Bedford, that manages over 500 properties, launched a programme 3 years ago to review fire safety in all their high rise blocks. They identified numerous properties that required fire sprinklers in order to meet the highest standards of fire safety. BMS have been contracted to retrofit fire sprinklers in many of these properties including:
- Boswell Court, retrofit of a residential fire sprinkler system to the 112 flats at the retirement housing block
- Ashburnham Court, which required remedial works that included an extension of the system to the new winter gardens and communal areas
BMS are currently on site at Richbell Court, a 15 storey high rise block of flats. The contract consists of installing a full BS9251:2021 system throughout, all third party accredited fire stopping, BS5839-Part 6 fire alarms and the BS5839-Part 1 fire alarms.
The project is progressing well and we are really pleased to have received some excellent feedback from tenants: “Just to say thank you for the speed and expertise used in installing the sprinklers today it is unusual these days to find a team as organised as your lads”
Our engineers are due to complete all works at Richbell Court in November.
